Buzzing about some random business openings on Vernon Blvd
Rumored site of a new high-end beauty salon on Vernon Blvd, LIC
1) Right next to the new spot Ethereal, is supposedly manifesting a small, French sandwich-style bistro named Figaro.
2) Across the street, and at the site in the picture is rumored to become a high-end beauty salon. The interior is currently being gutted.
3) This new building complex on Vernon, owned by the Manducati family, is rumored to be delivering a fancy, gourmet food store to the ground level. Think Zabar’s, not Gristedes.
4) Right next door to New Level Floral’s new location at 44th Drive, is going to play host to a new cigar lounge called Halo.
lovin’ all those rumors—although i’d prefer another eatery/wine bar as opposed to a cigar bar i guess it’s better than nothing. now all we need is a mom n’ pop video store….

I’ve been by the new Next Level Florist space. they just moved a few blocks further down Vernon to 44th Dr. Their new shop is really spectacular with lots more space. We haven’t lost a florist at all, they’re still here.
Yeah, a cinema would be cool. If you don’t use Netflix there is that little automated DVD shop on 50th just east of the subway entrance. The selection is pretty limited but it’s better than nothing.
Yes! it’s true about the French restaurant next to Ethereal. And in addition on top of that building we have a new cancer causing cell phone tower! note sarcasm.
I am glad however that Next Level has re birthed, and is still around.
We need more good brunch places!
And a staples-type place or UPS store.
How about getting rid of the Checks Cashing place on Vernon by the train!

I agree with #12. Who cashes checks anymore? Isn’t everthing done by wire? There’s a Chase bank right around the corner. I’ve never seen anyone use the dentist next door to that either.
We have a video store on Jackson just east of 23rd St, ‘natch. COS or whatever it’s called.
And that weird Moviebank place. So bizarre.
Something along the lines of Stinky Bklyn in Carroll Gdns would be great. Cheese and bread, yum. The VineWine crowd could make it work. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to the Manducati offshoot. I’d eat anything from that place.
Where is the new place by Manducatti’s gonna be? What cross street on Vernon? Sounds great, anyone ever been to Tino’s on Arthur Ave in the Bronx? Its by the same family that owns the famous Roberto’s. They re-did their deli about two years ago into a gourmet style italian deli with catering. A place like that in the hood would be awesome!
I’ve been to the dentist and they’re great. Really professional, experienced and nice. I recommend them.
Our dentists are highly professional. Their clientele includes people from the community and many who travel here from other locations due to their widely known reputation for great work and fair prices. I especially recommend Dr. Dan Weinstein since he is my dentist.
The Manducati place is directly across the street from McReillys.They resurfaced the structure a few years ago. It was once a group of broken down wooden structures sitting on land owned by the Manducati family. It seems they are finally going to do the interiors and open the greatly anticipated Italian Food Shop.
BTW – there is only one “t” in “Manducati”.
