Random Long Island City tidbits and half rumors
Facing west at Anabel Basin, Hunters Point LIC
1) I went shooting last week around Anabel Basin, which is the point on the LIC waterfront where the Queenswest development site ends. There are some great industrial buildings over there, including Matthew Barney’s studio at the end of the pier. Remember the boat?
2) LIC is going to get it’s first official Green Building. We’re still waiting for some more details on that, but the rumor is that it’s right off Vernon and it’s going to be about as Green as Green can be.
3) Sage American Kitchen is moving their digs over to Courthouse Sq, right next to the Courthouse Sq Wine Store. If you have not eaten there, they have amazing sandwiches and unbelievable cupcakes.
JUNE 2008 is the the opening of the new Sage General Store on 24-20 Jackson, next to the Court Square Wine shop. They will be staying open Monday through Sunday and evening hours too with delivery throughout LIC! Great take out dinner options like local farmers free range rotisserie chickens and hot stuff from a wood-burning oven. Sage is going even more organic and local with the new spot!
Any questions or to score an invite for the opening, email Lester at info@sageevents.com
