
It’s not really the pinnacle a neighborhood dreams of achieving, if neighborhoods do dream at all - but aptly categorized as an ‘Oddity’ is the news that Long Island City makes an appearance in the new Grand Theft Auto releasing on April 29th. The new release is based off NYC, which is called ‘Liberty City’, and Queens, which is called ‘Dukes’ features a very familiar looking sign for a drink called ‘Sprunk’.
Garden in Transit… Zebra style?
This junker was spotted on Jackson Ave in the Courthouse Square area. It appears as though somebody went shred-happy with a Garden in Transit decal from a flower taxi. It definitely, um…spruces up that ride.
Seems last week, everyone in Hunters Point decided to get rid of their Christmas trees on the same day. Collective consciousness? Or just a well timed trash day? Who knows. This post was inspired more by the photography of the trees, than the reason behind it. I’m sure there’s some great philosophical commentary about the symbolism of a disposable tree representing the celebration of consumer greed (and Jesus’s birthday of course)… but you won’t find it here.
