LIC’s Lounge 47 holds Benefit Auction for friend in need on Thursday night

Benefit Auction at Lounge 47, 47-10 Vernon Blvd, Long Island City

Vernon Blvd restaurant Lounge 47 is holding a Benefit Auction on Thursday night to help their friend who desperately needs it:

“Our friend, Mike Yaniro, was the victim of a brutal assault on the evening of October 22nd, 2009. He was hospitalized for over a week with multiple face fractures and extensive damage to his right eye. He underwent a 9 1/2 hour surgery which left him with multiple metal plates in his face, plastic that serves as the floor of his right eye, thousands of $$$ in medical bills, and a long road to complete recovery. Please come out and help our friend. His artwork, along with that of many other talented artists, will be up for auction on this night.”

The Benefit Auction will be held Thursday, November 19th from 7pm-2am at Lounge 47, 47-10 Vernon Blvd, LIC. Call 718.937.2044 for more information.

omg that is so terrible. He is such a nice guy I cannot imagine anyone wanting to hurt him.

Mike, we all pray for your recovery and hope to see you Thursday.

Doesn’t this guy work at Lounge? That’s horrible what happened to him.

Was he assaulted in LIC?

He was assaulted in Ridgewood/Bushwick area. He works at Lounge 47. I know I’ll be there tomorrow evening to help this guy out.

And one does not have to buy a piece of art to help out: I was told by a staff member there that a substantial portion of the evening’s food and drink tabs will be kicked in, as well.
