  • Queens is Green Fashion Show, April 18th from 6-8 pm.

  • Queens is Green Fashion Show “From clothes swapping on eBay to vintage fashion, ethical consumerism is on the rise and sexier than ever as more and more consumers want to be certain that the clothes they are wearing are sweatshop-free, with non-toxic inks, using sustainable fabrics or re-purposed materials. Thirteen local designers are getting ready to showcase their spin on green fashion – ranging from stylized jewelry made from recycled translucent milk containers to cute and flirty dresses made from deconstructed t-shirts or organic cotton onesies for babies. Featuring local boutiques Ethereal from Vernon/Jackoson, and Astoria-based Candy Plum and LoveDay 31. The Queens is Green Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, April 18th at from 6-8pm. I walked over to Dutch Kills at the weekend. It has not yet opened. They still have their construction permits on the windows.

Water Taxi Beach is open this weekend, just Saturday though.

Boycott WTB until they get proper security and toilet facilities for their savages.

They hope you boycott them. They’re already too crowded. They now have cover charges Thursday to Sunday, anywhere from $5 to $40!!! Let’s hope the other ones opening take away some of the crowds from LIC’s WTB.
