  • Custom framing/gift shop Matted LIC presents an exhibition of famed Pop Art collage artist Michael Albert, who describes his “Cereal Box collages – which he calls ‘Cerealism’ – as ‘a cross between Picasso’s Cubism and Warhol’s Pop.’” Opening on November 19th, 6-8pm.   • Vernon Blvd restaurant Lounge 47 is hosting a Benefit Auction for their artist friend Mike Yaniro, who was the victim of a brutal assault this past October.   • The Astoria Park Alliance and Green Shores NYC are working with Partnerships for Parks, Queens Compost Project of the Queens Botanical Garden, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation to bring leaf composting to Western Queens. This is the last Sunday of Leaf Fest, taking place in Astoria Park from 11am-1pm. Bring your leaves, learn how to compost, and take some home.   • ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ is the inaugural production at the Secret Theatre‘s brand new 3000 sq ft, 100-seat theatre, running through November 29th and December 2nd-5th @ 8pm with matinees @ 3pm on November 28th & 29th and December 5th.   • Save the date: gala opening of the brand new Secret Theatre space and the closing of the Queens Players’ latest production of ‘Cyrano de Bergerac’ on December 5th. Featuring two performances by the LIC School of Ballet, the ribbon cutting ceremony for the theatre at 5pm, and the final performance of ‘Cyrano.’

  • Flux Factory is having a Box Set Fundraiser on December 10th, a “stellar night of performances, music, free booze, and excellent people,” as well as “specially commissioned prints at extremely ridiculous prices.” Open bar cocktails start at 7:30pm, performances at 8:30pm, suggested donation $20.

  • Saturday Sessions at P.S. 1, a new program of emerging performance art that will take place on the second Saturday of each month; December 12th features Wayne Hodge and Daniel Perlin, in conjunction with Open Studios for ‘Rising Currents: Projects for New York’s Waterfront,’ 4-6pm.
