In her paintings, nested rectangles of cut paper house globs of dried paint and create imperfect grids. Inked patterns are covered by poured acyclic mediums to become new images based on actions of chance.” 37-24 24th Street, Suite 402, LIC

  • Continuing at the Secret Theatre: ‘Taming of the Shrew’ from June 10rd-24th, which “follows Katherine, a free spirit, thrust into a sect of men in need of submissive women. Suggestion: Live at the Gantries should be set up over on the grass so the audience can watch, picnic-style. Just sayin’…….

#1 I agree. Peninsula Park is labeled as an amphitheater, but they never use it that way. The grass area there is sloped towards the circle area where the musicians could set up. I guess they like the present location because it has higher visibility, but it is quite uncomfortable to sit on the stone stairs. However, I am glad we have this concert series and thanks to everyone that puts it together.

Does anyone visit this website anymore ? it’s has no action at all.

guess everyone got fed up with the constant bickering between old LIC and new LIC and pro-developers and anti-developers.

When two know-it-alls have a long winded convo back and forth, other posts get lost in the mix and everyone just gets turned off. Maybe these people should start their own blog.

Nothing exciting being talked about right now. And the blog’s postings have slowed down too, so less people commenting on less posts.

And summer’s here, everyone is at their summer houses.

#5 Anonymous / 1 year, 7 months ago

What summer house? I’m in Chateau LIC all summer.

I’m still reading the posts, just not commenting. We need another French-playgound-dog run controversy to get the comments flying. There’s not much to comment about art exhibits. Somehow, i think liqcity is fine with that?

blog fatigue

what we need is something positive, like organizing that big neighborhood stoop sale I suggested a few months ago….

#8 Anonymous / 1 year, 7 months ago

Actually 4, not to bicker but the problem has more to do with those who only who perceive it as a debate between old LIC and new LIC and pro-developers and anti-developers. The views cut across age, geographic, and business boundaries. I agree it is often tiresome. Sometimes however it does get the opinions flushed out which is useful.
