CRACKED: The Case of the missing Democratic City Council Candidate

Well. It seems there is a 5th Democratic City Council candidate running for our District 26 seat, Kwame Smalls. He’s 25 years old, from the Ravenswood Houses, and the “star” of VH1 reality TV shows ‘I Love New York 2′ and ‘I Love Money 2′. And if you are wondering if this is for real, it very much is.

Candidate Smalls participated in a debate recently with the other Democratic candidates, and here’s what was reported about his run:

First up was Smalls, a 25-year resident of the Ravenswood Houses, and a student at nearby LaGuardia Community College, studying speech therapy. Afflicted with a disease that leaves him legally blind, Smalls has to use Access-A-Ride transportation. “I’m more passionate on getting the things done that need to be done to make District 26 a better place,” he told the crowd. “I fit the shoes of the people who live in District 26 because I am District 26.”

The same article mentions another primary debate held on Tuesday that Mr. Smalls was not invited to, likely because of the video posted above. That was the liQcity panel discussion. Well… we tried to coordinate, but it didn’t work out. So Candidate Smalls, here’s a blog post to make up for the lack of inclusion. ENJOY.

PS – We will be posting the video of the liQcity panel discussion with the other Democratic candidates shortly.

Seem just as qualified as anyone who has come forward so far.

This is ridiculous and stupid. It’s not even humorous.

Jug wine! I probably do have more in common with this dude than the other ones. He IS District 26.

Who is the dude on the right? His Cheney?

#5 Anonymous / 1 year ago

He is pro-small business and I bet he won’t be running around trying to shut down resturants and speak out against liquor licences.

It is funny. Stupid and ridiculous yes. Good thing he was not at the liqcity debate. He would have ruined it for the serious people in the room… IE everyone.

#5 I think more like Karl Rove.

It’s the “serious people” that scare me. The ones you find out years later were funneling hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars into a nonprofit controlled by a relative who was paying kickbacks on it.

I would rather have someone who cares about his ‘hood and can approach things with a sense of humor.

We don’t need another Gioia who cared more about the cameras and fueling his political ambition than actually doing things for the neighborhood…

Small is not the only one whose petitions have been challenged. So This dude is trying to turn this into hate and denying the right when it’s sort of a stais quo mean trick. I don’t agree with it….but it’s stupid to make it personal. Is he drinking Urine? He’s making faces like he is? I want my councilman to be able to afford something other the rot gut. This candidate is ridiculous and he is a puppet for the guy on the right. And I really can’t believe these guys think this is a funny prank.

There should have been a disclaimer that this is an extraordinarily boring, supremely unfunny and excruciatingly L-O-N-G video. Worse, we find out this annoying and incoherent guy is studying speech therapy. Just wondering, is it possible to kick someone out of a profession before he even enters it?

This is ridiculous. But honestly he aint no betta than those fools running it now so hey, he got my vote! lol

I didnt think that it was possible but IT is an even bigger idiot than Eric Gioia

Putting his poor grammar aside, Smalls makes a valid point. Why is Feerick so determined to throw him off the ballot? Especially considering that he is the only African American running. Also, does anyone know what disability he’s referring to?

14, the guy is making a mockery of the electoral process. It has nothing to do with his being black. At least if he were funny, he might get a few votes.
