Keep LIC Boathouse afloat by attending their Fundraiser Party

River paddling with LICCB – Photo

The all-volunteer nonprofit organization LIC Community Boathouse is looking forward to another season of bringing unforgettable urban paddling experiences to thousands of adults and children, including their free summer paddles from Hallets Cove near Socrates Sculpture Park.

To assist their efforts, LICCB is having a Spring Launch Fundraising Party on March 11th starting at 5pm at The Foundry in LIC. Advance tickets are available online at $20 and include one free drink token and one free raffle ticket; tickets are $25 at the door.

The Boathouse is also putting out an open call for LICCB paddling photos from any year, needed ASAP: “Your photos might be chosen for promotional materials, inclusion in the slide show that will run through the evening of the annual fundraiser on March 11, and the website photo gallery.” More info online.

Great, I always look forward to this event every spring! It’s like the sparrows returning to wherever they return to every year. ;)

Is this the kind of event I can bring my one year old to?

1, spoken like a true city dweller. Sparrows never leave NYC. But I understand what you’re saying.

#2: Can your one-year-old paddle a kayak?

I wouldn’t bring a 1 year old there. It can get loud when the band starts playing and the crowd is relatively big and noisy. And alcohol is involved.

5, Parents have started to bring their infants to bars. Noisy crowds, loud music and alcohol don’t seem to matter much to them.

This is always a great event. The money does go to a great place as so many people enjoy what the LIC Community Boathouse does.
