Wed night in LIC: Community Activism, Spanish Pop & Winter Whites

Pulaski Bridge, Long Island City
Some stuff going on around Vernon/Jackson tonight…
1) The Creek is hosting a community meeting tonight @ 7pm about creating a separate bike lane on the Pulaski Bridge, which runs between Long Island City & Greenpoint, Brooklyn:
“As long-time cyclists, TA members, and commuters in NYC, we are researching and advocating for the creation of a protected bike lane on the Pulaski bridge between Greenpoint, Brooklyn and Long Island City, Queens Separate pedestrian and bike paths are critically needed on the bridge to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers alike. In addition, our goal is to facilitate efficient multi-nodal access between North Brooklyn, Long Island City, eastern Queens, and important public transit hubs to and from Manhattan and other parts of the City.” 7pm, 10-90 Jackson Ave, just west of 11th St, Hunters Point
2) Live Spanish pop tonight at the LIC Bar courtesy of Miguelito Lamorté. 8pm, 45-58 Vernon Blvd @ 46th Ave, Hunters Point
3) Vine Wine is tasting Winter Whites tonight. 5:30 – 8:30pm, 12-09 Jackson Ave, just east of 11th St, Hunters Point
Anything else going on tonight in the hood? Feel free to post in the comments.
Bundle up.
Who writes this blog? IT does not say anywhere.
Glad to see liQcity posting local events.
LIQcity is written by a woman who lives in the neighborhood. She is very nice and probably doesn’t reveal herself for a reason. It’s refreshing. I’m tired of seeing broker blogs with the stupid broker pictures.
Refreshing my ass. This mystery blogger and anonymous comment wars thing is pretty lame and anti-community. Part of being adults is owning up to your opinions. This juvenile exercise in generating outrage to drive web traffic is a calculated business move, nothing more.
Jake may be a d-bag, but at least posters on QW have to own up to their opinions.
5, then don’t post on this site. Easy as that. Enjoy reading the nail salon recommendations on QW.com.
Hey #5 ……WHAT A HATER! she happens to be an extremely intelligent and beautiful women!
Im with #6…..you have the choice to not post and not read!……..move ALONG……
Intelligent and beautiful have nothing to do with the quality of the blog. If you don’t like my comments, then you don’t have to read them now, do you?
And for all the absurd criticism heaped on the neighborhood through the comments on this blog, the blogger better be able to take some herself.
If you’re gonna let anonymous a-holes like me post, then don’t be shocked at the quality of the comments that you get.
8, it’s obvious you have some kind of interest in something posted on this blog because I can’t imagine anyone else feeling so enraged. So are you the Idiotarod poster? Got hurt feelings?
#8 needs a diaper change. This is a great blog, unarguably the best one about LIC. Obviously she can take the criticism if she doesn’t delete the comments of idiots like you. I think most of the comments here are interesting. Some of them… well, A-holes are everywhere………..
“Intelligent and beautiful have nothing to do with the quality of the blog. ”
I totally agree. This is a quality blog regardless of who’s writing it and what they look like. I’ve often seen people attacking this blog and I don’t understand why they are reading and commenting if they hate it so much. I was a little sad when the posting stopped for a while, but now it seems to be back again. Good job LIQcity! Keep doing what you’re doing and don’t listen to the bad-mouthers.
