Until a developer signs up for this deal I think the affordable housing is a pipe dream. No way any developer is going to be interested in building buildings that are 60% under-utilized without extracting something significant and economically meaningful in return. The 60% will fall to 20% and concessions will be provided.

With respect to the Hunters Point South park article, does anyone know what this line means?

“With an anticipated budget of about $1.1 million, or $100,000 an acre, Hunters Point’s esplanade would also be among the city’s top-funded parks through the creation of 3,000 affordable and 2,000 market-rate adjacent apartments”

I thought the city hopes the market-rate housing will help subsidize the affordable housing — but now the affordable housing will also be subsidizing the parks? Seems like the money will come from taxpayers regardless.

This news about the G train not stopping at Court Square doesn’t make any sense at all. Why is the MTA building a huge / dramatic direct connection between the 7 line if they’re planning on stopping G service at Court Square? This makes no sense.
