I wish every day that Tom Cat haf a little counter somewhere in the factory to buy whatever they have left over from their orders. It’s torture for us LICers to see the trucks everywhere but not be able to buy their bread. They must have extra every day. LIQ, why not ask them?

I concur with #3. Tom Cat, please open a retail operation in LIC – you would be very very popular around here.

Many of us want to buy local and it doesn’t get more local than Tom Cat!

Fink Bakery operated for many years in LIC, and they too never sold their bread from the factory. The smell of their onion rye baking was intoxicating, and was the only aroma that could compete with the stink of the Newtown Creek.

I know Communitea uses Tom Cat breads for all their sandwiches and panini. And they’re real tasty! In fact, I’m gonna go get me a chicken curry sandwich right now from there as my mouth started salivating at the thought. Yummmm………

You ever tried it #8? If not, then please don’t ‘ewww’. Kindda childish.

I think #8 was talking bout your saliva. I went “ewww” too.

You never heard of salivating at the thought of something good to eat? It’s a common expression. You need to pick up a book or get out in the world a little more.

I love the idea of a bakery….but Tom Cat is not the greatest. I find the bread very tough and rather unexciting. It’s not bad…..but whoever supply’s the Garden in Greenpoint would be my idea of a baker. Their almond croissants are so delightfully filled to the gills with the most unique almond paste. Closer to marzipan than your average croissants. And there 8 grain Pullman, the best. 6 kinds of baguettes, and they have all those different kind of rolls that really satisfy, and the apple turnovers are terrific, and the muffins just the right combo of healthy and tastey. And the deserts…… I think I’m hungry.
