Hey there liQcity readers. We’re back from a brief hiatus in posting. Thanks for bearing with us… and to those of you who sent us emails wondering where we are… we’re right here and not going anywhere. Sometimes, you know - things come up.
Here’s a video about Long Island City that’s circulated before, but it’s from an interesting NYC real estate video blogger IntoTheBox so we’re throwing it back out there. It’s nice to see video of LIC in general, and it’d be even better to see more of it. If you have any good footage of LIC, feel free to send it our way.

Such a yuppie BS take on everything. “younger, hipper generation” AKA rich older people blah blah luxury condos blah blah super cursory obvious tourist brochure landmarks PS1, Silvercup, fortune cookies … “live like a star”… “hottest developments”… real estate guys… stop it stop it stop it.
These are the sorts of videos that only fuel this neighborhood attracting lameos and seem to have very little to do with what living here is actually all about. Effing hell. Why is everyone trying to sell this neighborhood into something it isn’t to people who don’t live here?

Brandon: I agree with you but she’s laying out an overview for people who have never been to the neighborhood. Her daily video show is about REAL ESTATE. She covers different neighborhoods every day.
LIQCity picked her up. It’s not an insiders take to where we live. Taking the 7 train tells people who don’t live here nothing except what it looks like and it looks like a documentary that will hold no ones attention.
That’s not what she’s doing. Look at her videos and you’ll get it.

two terms only non-NY’ers use. so excuse us if us ‘NY’ers’ are excited about NY real estate. if you lived here during the 70’s and 80’s, you’d be excited to see POSITIVE changes taking place.

Not according to these people your not. If you’ve been in LIC for 10 years, you sir/ma’am are a burden and are the type expected to get up and move out. We are quickly becoming a 2 class system here in NYC, the bloomberg rich and everyone else. everyone else had better find somewhere else to live. cant wait to see the 1st local implant in the cells at the 108, bitching he wants his lawyer so everyone can laugh at him.

These people= the current yuppie infestation in LIC.
I’m sick of hearing how terrible YET how great things were back in the 70s and if we could only go back to the crack era things would be ‘real’ again. Yuppie infestation is everywhere in NYC. It’s in New Jersey, Brooklyn, obviously Manhattan. It’s a rich man’s disneyworld. Stop complaining and fucking deal in reality. Growth has to happen and if it didn’t, LIC would stagnate and this blog wouldn’t be on the internet.
If you are sick of real estate this blog may not be for you. Just a thought…

I’m personally sick of all the yuppies in LIC. I was born and raised here like my great grandparents before me, not born in Kansas or some west Bubble fuck state nowhere near LIC and moved here. There is no longer a place to park, prices have raised, the skyline that I love so much is going to be hidden by condos, my neighborhood has new streets, and who can afford to live here anymore? They are putting up so many new developments that no one can afford it. LIC is going to become the next Harlem, Bushwick, or Queensbridge and be turned into section 8 housing only because “artists” won’t think it’s the new cool place. As a New Yorker I can only tell you yuppies, get the fuck out of NY because we don’t want you here.
