Star Tower losing power? LIC’s tallest highrise coming up short so far.

Hmm… anyone know what happened to The Star Tower condo project in Queens Plaza? Roe Development Corp’s 25-story tower across the street from its first LIC condo project (The Fusion), is (was?) slated to be Long Island City’s tallest residential high-rise. Months ago, as other developments were struggling, the Star Tower had already projected 50% sold, but now it’s pretty much dropped off the face of the earth.

We received word from local tipsters that work has been stopped at the site for some time now, and even more strangely, the Star Tower’s official site displays as a ‘Reported Attack Site!’ for ‘malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent’. Calls to Roe Development inquiring about the status of the project have gone unreturned. Bizarre.

glad to see this topic on here…wondering what the people who put down deposits are doing?…construction has been stagnant for more than half a year…there was word of the union rat out front months ago and bad foundation work…had thought it a good buy when we checked out the promo offices last summer but know feeling otherwise…

How would 25 stories be the highest residential development in LIC when Citylights and Avalon North in LIC are already over 40 stories each?

Highest condo tower, I think. Citylights is a co-op and Avalon North is a rental building.

Silly marketing by them in my opinion.

Move to LIC and you’ll get laid and find a mate? Is that the message I’m getting here? And I’ll learn to play my guitar in my leisure time, and that huge cooperate job that I’ve just been laid off off?

GIVE ME A BREAK.

wow they’ve got a tight lip on whatever is going on over there…not even one complaint from purchasers…not like Crescent Club airing everything out on Queenswest….

I don’t think really had any purchasers to begin with, that’s why you’re not hearing anything. They barely started sales when everything stopped.

That makes sense #6.

rescission rights for purchasers in April. i think most people are waiting for the deadline to hit so they can collect their deposits back.

supposedly they had so many units snatched up in the beginning that they upgraded the siding to be all windows…

The situation here is a work stop order because of a badly poured foundation. Yikes!
