The soft opening begins over the weekend, and the new Sage is offering an expanded menu including daily casseroles, gourmet sandwiches, salads, brick oven pizza, soups, Blue Plate Specials, and desserts. Not to mention, the general store which will feature a selection of artisan dairy, chocolate, and coffee.

“Sage General Store prepares both traditional and contemporary American food, using the freshest naturally-grown produce, meats and poultry. We seek out small, famiy-run farms and purveyors to bring you food full of authentic flavors.” Amen.

A little further west on Jackson Ave, is the new Verizon Wireless store in the ground floor retail space at the Echelon Condos. Meh.

Is LIC now the brick-oven-pizza capitol of America?

No joke. That and sushi. Don’t selfish yuppies eat anything else?

Selfish yuppies looooooove their brick-oven pizza. everyone knows that. no one else. just selfish yuppies. It’s not like brick oven pizza is a new york thing or anything… I think in almost every neighborhood there are hundreds of places to get pizza. no big deal.
