Do we need another Fusion restaurant in LIC or even NYC??? Fusion is so 1997. Totally played out. We can't people choose one thing and do it right instead of trying to be conFusion.

I went to many Asian restaurant in Queens...but Shi as new resto is the best after all. Atmosfere is killing :) u ( Decor, Lighting and View...wow). You must love it. Food are excellent ( steak cubes, Black Cod entree is a must try, sashimi is very fresh). Drinks are made by proffesional bartender (compare than UES Manhattan bar), Servers are very attentive and friendly. The owner is awesome, he really treat customers like his own family. One thing that's bother me only the menu letter is so small and hard to read.
Absolutely I love this resto and will suggest all my friend to come and try. I believe in the future you have to make reservation in advance to get a table.

For anyone that lives in the LIC area, you have to be happy that an upscale restaurant with good food and great drinks has finally opened. I live in the same building and my wife and I either eat in, or order in from from there 2-3 times per week. My wife is a sushi snob, I am a vegetarian and we are both very happy at the end of each meal. The brothers invested a lot of money brining this upscale restaurant to our area and we will do our best to dine their and support them. The food is very good (fresh) and the setting is fantastic. Not sure what all the "crying" is about another "asian fusion" restaurant is about, but think decor, great owners, fantastic views, so what's the problem?

People are even bitching about the name of the place. Would you prefer a McDonald's or a Taco Bell be there? Probably not! This is the only good sushi (asian fusion) in the area, so for all the haters, simply do not go. For people who are reading this and are undecided, it is worth the trip and the owners cannot be more helpful. Ooh yea, have a pear martini, they are excellent as well!

I've actually eaten here before and the food is pretty amazing. The restaurant itself is also pretty nice. It's spacious and modern looking. The prices on food are reasonable and it has a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline. Food is also served outside in a garden like area that is only a couple of hundred feet from the water during nice days. The only real downside is that part of the skyline is blocked by the Pepsi Cola sign. Other than that Shi is a classy place to have dinner. The food is also more of a fusion of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese traditional dishes mixed in with more Americanized ingredients though, so if you're expecting something like Chinese takeout you won't find that here.

Be careful if you eat at that place. In Japanese, "ono" means hatchet or ax. "Shi," among other definitions, means death.

If SHI is like an Ono in the Gansevoort Hotel, that would be a cool addition to the neighborhood.

I happened to meet the brothers when I was coming home from work since I live in the building-- at first i was skeptical of another asian/fusion place, but it looks pretty cool, they gave me a tour of the ongoing construction inside. nice guys. I don't know much about construction but the layout seems nice so far.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have the addition, it would just be nice if everything wasn't and Asian themed.

I'm still having a hard time figuring out Lucky Mojo. Stickes me as the type of place trying to do too much. What is it? Japan? BBQ? Tex Mex? Menu is all over the place and everything is mediocre. Would be better to focus on one thing and do it well than try to be all things to all people. Blend is not Tex Mex, its pure Latin.

Go to Blend(they're between Communitea and Lounge 47). They serve Latin fusion cuisine. I ate there a couple of weeks ago. Surprisingly good. I had their seafood ceviche and yucca fries. If you want tostones or mofongo, it's available in LIC.
