I have a studio in LIC. Before this building went up, I could see perfectly down 42nd Street from the roof of my building. I could even see the gray misted mass of NJ vaguely down 42nd Street. This building did an excellent job of blocking that view from my roof–as have the inhumanly-scaled L Haus and it’s hulking twin across the street. I’m not 100% against development but let’s erect some reasonably-sized (five stories or less, respectable footprint) and reasonably-priced buildings that have some respect for the original tenor of the neighborhood. I’m sick to death of these behemoths going up. I love LIC and would love to buy something there but I can’t afford it.

I don’t get the huge windows in the bath/shower area. I mean, strange. I wonder if they’ll ever cause some traffic accident by people watching the weirdos shower?

The decision to go condo is a good sign of the confidence in the LIC market and continued development of the area. Seems like inventory is moving at a slow but steady pace at all developments. Wonder if LIQ would posts some stats on unsold units at the various projects. I bet it would surprising.
